Steam Engine and Historic Boat Weekend

The award-winning Lion Salt Works Museum, located near Northwich, Cheshire is holding its inaugural Steam Transport Weekend on Sunday 1 May and Monday 2 May. Re-opened in 2015, after a four-year, £10m restoration, the Museum's event will feature six miniature steam engines , including two 4" scale Burrell double crank road locos, a 3" scale Marshall traction and a 4" scale Tasker A2 Tractor. In addition there will be a steam lorry and a display of treadle-powered fret saws. Located on the Trent & Mersey canal, the event will also feature the 'President' and 'Kildare' historic boats. In addition there will be a series of stalls and children's activities available at modest cost. There is no cost to visitors enjoying the boats and steam engines, visiting the play area, café, butterfly garden or café. Parking is free.
