On one night a month the Herbert opens its doors for an exciting evening of art, music, drinks, talks, performance, and history inspired fun.
This month we welcome back Drink and Draw. It’s a free sociable event for anybody that likes to doodle. We’ll be linking with the BBC Storytelling Festival so will have plenty of inspiration for your tiddly scribbling.
Don’t miss the Mee Club! Coventry’s own true life storytelling event where you’ll hear tales to delight, enthral, excite and entertain. The theme this month is Small Things. A gift...a remark...a secret...a gesture...a dog...a promise...a beginning...a piece of jewellery...an insect...a flower...an idea...all of these things can have an impact.
Small things can transform our world - for better or worse!
If you’d like to share a story of your own then you can find out how here where there's information about pre-pitching your story to guarantee your place or the option to turn up on the night and be given a slot if there's one free.
If you would like to tell a story but feel like you need a little guidance, you can book onto the workshop that's being held a week before on www.theherbert.org.
Tonight’s show will be hosted by Rich Stokes and Jane Campion Hoye with special guest tellers: Kristina Gavran and Tina Hofman.
Our new Grayson Perry exhibition The Vanity of Small Differences will be open and you can be the first to see the Coventry Open which launches on the same night.
To complement the Perry exhibition we are delighted to welcome Ian Swankie who will give a talk entitled Pots and Frocks – the World of Grayson Perry From Essex Punk Potter to Superstar National Treasure. You can book your place at the talk for only £6.31 (including £1.31 Eventbrite transaction fee) by visiting www.theherbert.org.
Our café will be under new management and we hope to have an array of delicious refreshments for the evening, including a guest beer or two!
Different every time, bring your friends and join us after hours. Don’t miss out!
