There’s a strict ‘no children allowed’ rule for this After Hour’s Playground event at Aberdeen Maritime Museum. Come along and explore what play means to you as you discover all sorts of fun
from popcorn and carnival games to upcycling old toys into wearable pieces, as well as discussions and experiences based around the different ways we can play. The entire museum will spring to life as the usual ‘Quiet please!’ attitude gets thrown out the window in favour of a more raucous and rambunctious atmosphere. Linguists will love our improvised word play in the Whaling Gallery whilst the more competitive can challenge themselves with team games in the Education Suite. There’s even ‘Serious Lego’ workshops aimed at improving your creative responses to problems. So loosen off your ties and let out those bunches for an energetic evening of competing, plotting, creating, imagining and letting go, as you discover more about the purpose of play.
