Lunchtime Lecture: Dr Timothy Bowman - “The Battle of the Somme: Three Armies at War, 1916”

This lecture will give an overview of the Battle of the Somme and include comparisons between the different armies involved in the campaign, namely the British, French and German. Timothy Bowman is a historian who specialises in British and Irish military history. To date his research has considered aspects of the British Army in the First World War, and the Ulster Volunteer Force, 1910–1922.
