Museums at Night: Day of the Dead
This year the American Museum is staying up past its bedtime to celebrate Day of the Dead, a traditional Mexican festival which celebrates the lives of lost loved ones with a riot of colour, music, and food.
Take the opportunity to see the Museum as twilight gathers— our resident spooks will probably be lying low to avoid the commotion, but you never know… Make sure you pop in to Hatched, Matched, Dispatched— and Patched to see our displays of funereal costume.
Salsa down to the Stables for a very special dance workshop. Suitable for absolute beginners, our expert tutors will have you shimmying across the floor in no time.
Get creative and make your very own Day of the Dead decorations with illustrator and artist Hannah Carding.
Sample the tastes of Mexico courtesy of the The Little Taqueria, the South West’s finest taco van, and enjoy a drink in our pop-up bar.
Our free shuttle bus will be running throughout the evening from Terrace Walk. Pick ups will be at 5.30pm, 6.15pm, and 7pm.
