Grant Museum After Hours: Adventures in Gibbon-ology - The past, present and future of Southeast Asi

The night owls amongst you can join the bats, aardvarks, hedgehogs and other nocturnal specimens to enjoy the Grant Museum at night. From the bizarre to the incredible, our film night, late opening, talk and open mic night will make you take another look at the natural world. Often considered the poor relation of their great ape cousins, gibbons have received considerably less attention than other mammals, despite the fact that the rarest ape in the world is the Hainan gibbon. Join Professor Helen Chatterjee MBE as she celebrates these charismatic apes, shares their evolutionary history and investigates our relationship with them and the efforts now being undertaken to conserve these beautiful but rare primates. The talk is followed by a free wine reception at the Museum. This event is free and there is no need to book
