Over the next few months the museum is running a number of exciting Arts Award courses as part of our project, ARTefacts. There are courses for home educated families and schools working with different artists including creative writing with local children’s author James Campbell, visual arts with artist Juliet Lockhart, felting with Catherine Tournay and printing with the Museum’s own team of printers. The courses will be running from September to the end of March and there are still some places left.
The Museum is also running two ARTefacts Re-Enactment Summer Holiday Clubs for children age 7+ with Black Knight Historical re-enactors.
The Medieval week will run from the 17th to the 21st of August, 10am to 4pm every day. Children will be able to explore what life was like in Medieval times, learn from professional re-enactors, have a go at Medieval art techniques and earn an Explore Arts Award.
The next week will be our Georgian week from the 24th to 28th of August, 10am to 4pm every day. In this week we will be finding out from real re-enactors what the Georgians did, what their clothes were like and more as well as working towards the Explore Arts Award.
Each ARTefacts Summer Holiday Club is just £99.00 per child for five full days of activities.
