Lessons in Death and Living

What can the Old Masters tell us about living a life rich with beauty, meaning, and purpose? And how do paintings intended to evoke contemplation on the transience of life hold meaning for us today? We will spend time in the Gallery looking closely at a small number of paintings. There will also be the chance to reflect on their relevance to our own thoughts and experiences, over tea and cake. Life lessons from the Old Masters The paintings in our collection depict a vast range of human emotions and life experiences, from love and fear to triumph and sacrifice. But what can we learn from Old Master paintings and how relevant are they to our lives today? Come with a sense of fun and exploration for these participatory sessions. No experience necessary. Refreshments included.
