From poster designs to prophetic visions of the future, the show will explore this rich source of inspiration for artists who are constantly fascinated with the world that surrounds them. The movement, speed and intensity of modern life are brought to bear in this exhibition. Planes, Trains and Automobiles has been specially curated by The Lightbox Young Curators. The works have been brought together from The Ingram Collection of Modern British and Contemporary Art and feature artists, Andrew Johnson, Eric Ravilious, John Bratby, Mary Fedden, Eduardo Paolozzi, Reg Butler, John Bellany and Peter Howson.
This stunning exhibition has been curated by our brilliant Young Curators, who are all aged between 13 and 19 years old. The next Young Curators Project will take place in June. In this next project, the Young Curators will work with artist Stuart Simler to create some exciting and original artork which will be displayed alongside the Main Gallery exhibition 'Warhol and the World of Pop Art'.
