Antisemitism in Contemporary Europe: A Conversation between Deborah Lipstadt and Anthony Julius

Launching a wider series of public talks and lectures on contemporary antisemitism organised by The Wiener Library, this lecture will bring together two outstanding minds to discuss the challenges posed by modern-day Holocaust denial, anti-Jewish attacks and expressions of hatred towards Israel in Europe. Professor Deborah Lipstadt is professor of modern Jewish history and Holocaust studies at Emory University and the author of The Eichmann Trial and Denying the Holocaust. Anthony Julius QC is a renowned specialist in media and defamation law. He successfully defended Deborah Lipstadt in the libel case brought by David Irving. He is Deputy Chairman at London law firm Mishcon de Reya. In 2011 he became Chairman of the Board at the Jewish Chronicle.
