Artist Workshop

A rare opportunity to learn about the traditional materials used by an artist, from an artist and materials expert. Scott Pohlschmidt, painter, sculptor and co-founder of Lavender Hill Studios will explain the provenance and properties of different pigments; how to grind them and make paint; how to apply them to greatest effect. Participants will learn to stretch and prime the canvas and have the opportunity to varnish a finished work. Using examples from A Victorian Obsession exhibition, Scott will also provide a historical background into the materials used today as well as recommendations on the latest trends and products.
