On the final afternoon of the Colours, Community and Chemistry exhibition, collector Lyn Broster will show the evolution of artificial fibres and their use in what we now label vintage clothing, highlighting pieces in the exhibition. There will be opportunities to play with colour and explore the meanings of shade names too. Manchester Science Festival spectrometer graphs of rayon filaments will be proudly on display alongside contributions made by visitors throughout the exhibition's run. Crafty perspectives on female scientists and personal stories recorded by visitors to the exhibition about the social and manufacturing history of the north can be heard at the audio console in the exhibition. It's an alchemy of science and art. Take part.
