An exhibition to recognise and celebrate the role South Tyneside women played in the 1984-85 Miners’ Strike will be on display at South Shields Museum and Art Gallery.
One For All Productions have been interviewing mothers, wives and daughters across the North East who rallied behind their men throughout the year-long dispute. Come and hear the experiences of some of the South Tyneside women, find out what that year was like for them and what they did, how they not only fed hundreds of families through organising food parcels and collections, but also went on demonstrations and joined the men on the picket line.
