Ian Beckett, Professor of Military History at the University of Kent and author of “Home Front 1914-1918: How Britain Survived the Great War” will explore the story of Britain at war. Discover how recruitment, conscription, the Volunteer Training Corps and the role of women shaped the country during World War I. Professor of Military History at the University of Kent, Ian Beckett has previously he has held chairs in both Britain and the United States. He is Chairman of the Council of the Army Records Society and Secretary of the Buckinghamshire Military Museum Trust.
