Opening of the new location and the exhibition «100 Years of Swiss Design»

We are opening our new location in the Toni-Areal in Zurich West, the Museum für Gestaltung – Schaudepot!
The new Schaudepot (Open Collections) presents temporary exhibitions and brings together its four collections – Poster, Design, Applied Art and Graphics – with their 500'000 objects. For the first time the Museum für Gestaltung presents its collections to the public in the Schaudepot.
The opening exhibition entitled “100 Years of Swiss Design” presents for the first time an exhaustive overview of Switzerland as a nation of designers. With over 800 exhibits from the museum’s Design Collection – the largest collection of Swiss design in the world – plus some spectacular objects on loan, the exhibition displays significant design objects from the field of furniture and product design. Apart from the originals, sketches, prototypes, models and photo-graphs shed new light on Switzerland as a centre of design.
