18th Annual Grant Lecture: Why aren’t there any marsupial whales?

Reproductive strategies vary wildly across vertebrates. Some species lay eggs, while other bear live young; some have larval stages with and undergo extensive changes before adult-hood, while others develop directly into forms similar to their parents. Dr. Anjali Goswami will present her research on the evolutionary consequences of these different strategies focusing on marsupials using evidence ranging from long extinct museum fossils through to cutting edge techniques looking at developing embryos. This event is free and there is no need to book. Following the lecture will be a free wine reception and a private view of the Museum.
