The Festival of Geology is a partnership between UCL, the Geologists Association and Rockwatch. Take part in brilliant activities allowing you to handle fantastic fossils, marvellous minerals and remarkable rocks. Try your hand at gem panning, identifying minerals and casting fossils, or come and listen to the range of talks on topics as varied as tropical forests at the poles or Mars exploration or the colour of dinosaurs. This day-long celebration of all things geological is one not to be missed for rock enthusiasts of all ages. And for those who can’t get enough of rocks and fossils there are field trips on the Sunday of that weekend, see the leaflets available on the day for more information. The event is free and there is no need to book.
