From Highclere Castle to the Tomb of Tutankhamun

In 1914 the 5th Earl of Carnarvon received concession to dig in the Valley of the Kings in Egypt. It was not until 1922 that the excavation revealed the astonishing tomb of Tutankhamun. The present Countess of Carnarvon, owener of Highclere Castle (the real 'Downton Abbey'), recounts the remarkable story of her ancestor's role in the discovery, and the 'truth' behind the curse of Tutankhamun.
