Furnishing the King's House: Items from the Palace of Tutankhamun

Little is known about the palaces of ancient Egypt, because few traces of these buildings survive and most of their contents have long since been lost. An exception occurs among the items buried in the tomb of Tutankhamun, many of which were made to be used in the palace before being interred with the king. This talk takes a close look at some of these objects and the significance of their decoration, and explores what they can tell us about the life of Tutankhamun.
