The HandleBards present…Macbeth

On just four bicycles the group are embarking on a two-thousand mile adventure around the British Isles in which they will carry all the necessary sets, props, costumes and camping equipment to perform a high-octane, madcap version of Macbeth. The HandleBards do Shakespeare differently - using bikes to power various surprises and contraptions on-stage, whilst playing ALL the parts in Director James Farrell's (RSC, West End, Chichester) wild 1930's indie-folk romp. Macbeth tells the incredible tale of ambition, magic and murder! The performances will be open-air so we will be expecting glorious sun-shine (fingers crossed - if the weather is inclement, the Great Hall will make a rather marvellous stand-in). So grab a tasty picnic, your finest group of friends, low-backed chairs, rugs and cushions and come watch some first-rate Shakespeare in the stunning surroundings of the Hall!
