Explore the world of folk customs and taxidermy in this hidden treasures workshop bringing together the Corinium Museum and the John Moore Countryside Museum. This afternoon will explore the world of curious folk customs in the Cotswolds by bringing some unusual objects from the Corinium Museum collection out from the stores. The fascinating practise of taxidermy will be uncovered and its original purpose for field study and scientific record exposed. Objects from the John Moore Countryside collection will be on display and Emma and Simon will discuss both conservation of taxidermy animals and the pitfalls of managing organic matter in museum collections.
