Diefenbaker’s 1950s Highland Hop: Talk and Ceremony at Kildonan Church

Join in with this vintage motorcade formed of the coolest cars from the 50s and 60s. Following the historic route taken by Canadian Prime Minister John Diefenbaker in 1968, you'll take the country road from Helmsdale to Kildonan Church, enjoying beautiful views with every step. Once at the church, there will be a moving re-dedication of the memorial plaque unveiled by Diefenbaker to his Scottish ancestors and you'll have the chance to learn more on the life of this prominent politician and his Scottish connections. You'll also be able to browse through the display of ‘Diefen Crofts’ models illustrated with stories by local school children.
