Come to the Ragged School Museum this half term and get inventing! The 19th Century was a time of great invention – light bulbs, photography, flushing toilets, even ice cream! But among all these wonderful contraptions were some weird, wonderful and, er, wonky inventions that weren’t quite so successful. We’ll be taking a look at the wackiest, silliest and most confusing inventions of the Victorian era – from umbrella hats and spherical velocipedes, to steam-powered lawnmowers and moustache protectors. We’re looking for a few inventors (young and old) to turn the Ragged School Museum into a Victorian inventing workshop for half term!
