This is a cigarette box in its original cardboard box, it has never been used. The box is a mottled brown colour of plastic, possibly bakelite, it has a logo on the base, this is a 'B' and also says British Made. It has a removable lid and there are two conpartments inside. It is 116mm long, 83mm wide and 64mm high. It belonged to the donor's father., , Donor's parents were James Drennan Potter, died 1963, Corporal in the Royal Air Force and Hazel A.B.Potter nee Blake, died 2007. They both worked in the RAF during World War II which is where they met and got married in 1939, stationed at Meple, Cambridge. Hazel worked for the 75th New Zealand Lancaster Squadron. They had two sons, Keneth born 1947 and the donor, David born 1952. After the war they lived at Newburn, Newcastle as Jame's family were from that area. They moved to 31 The Burnside, West Denton in 1954 which is where these items are from, along with all the other items catalogued under 2008-5.
