Box of string loops for Foucault Pendulum.

Painted tinplate steel box containing numerous string loops, by the Science Museum, London, United Kingdom, 1985-1987. For use with the leather strap to hold the Foucault pendulum bob in place. Attached to both the strap and a hook on the side of the pedulum scale, the string was burnt through with a lighted match to release the pendulum into its swinging motion.
