A Young Spanish Princess

The young princess is depicted in formal pose. She wears a locket with a representation of the Nativity 'en camaieu'. The cutting off of the hands at the sleeves indicates that the picture has almost certainly been cut down in size. It may even be a fragment of a group portrait. The style of the ruff and cuffs suggest a date in the 1620's. Size: 65 x 51 cm
