D-Day Museum and Overlord Embroidery

Portsmouth’s D-Day Museumis Britain’s only museum dedicated solely to covering all aspects of the D-Day landings in Normandy, France, on 6 June 1944. D-Day was a turning point in the Second World War, and a moment when the course of world events depended on the Allied troops taking part. Find out more about what you can see in the museum's displays, including the Overlord Embroidery. Discover more about D-Day here - including the answer to the question "What does D-Day stand for?"

Are you interested in attending events of all kinds that are being held in the south of England to mark the 70th anniversary of D-Day? Then have a look at our Events Calendar. If you are organising an event and would like us to help publicise it, you can add your event details there too. Also have a look at D-Day on your Doorstep, our unique new listing of locations throughout the UK that are connected to the D-Day Landings (we encourage you to add your own locations too).

Find out more about Portsmouth's D-Day anniversary commemorations on 3-8 June 2014.
