Scenkonstmuseet
A whole new experience!
At Swedish Museum of Performing Arts you step into the world of theatre, dance and music - both on stage, and behind the scenes, presenting highlights from throughout history to the present day. We want to arouse your curiosity, deepen your knowledge and increase awareness of your own creative abilities.
The building is known as Kronobageriet, and is the oldest industrial building in Stockholm. Over the centuries it has functioned (amongst other things) as a bakery, an arsenal, as well as a vault for ‘brännvin’ (light Swedish vodka).
This state-owned, historic building has now been completely renovated, with great care, in preparation for an accessible, modern museum. Extending over three floors, encompassing exhibitions, a studio, a shop and a large auditorium, together with space for workshops, as well as a restaurant.
Welcome to Swedish Museum of Performing Arts - a place, a stage and a voice for creative people!
The main exhibition, On Stage , focuses on artistic creativity and craftsmanship within the professional performing arts. We present highlights from dance, music, theatre and puppet shows throughout...
