The permanent exhibition “Hegel’s Life and Work”, located on the first and second floors of the museum and covering approximately 100 square meters, is dedicated to the person of Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel, his thought, his writings, and their immense impact.
Visitors follow the key stages of Hegel’s life—from his birth and youth in Stuttgart, through his studies in Tübingen, and on to his various professional appointments, culminating in the height of his academic career as a professor at the University of Berlin.
A special focus of the permanent exhibition is placed on Hegel’s works and their extraordinary influence on subsequent generations of thinkers and on the history of philosophy as a whole.
Exhibits and multimedia stations vividly present the central ideas of Hegelian philosophy and offer in-depth insights into the thinking of this great philosopher. Elaborate philosophical experimental stations bring Hegel’s theoretical approaches to life through interactive and hands-on experiences.
In consideration of the museum’s many international visitors, the permanent exhibition is presented in three languages (German, English, and Chinese).
As an additional feature, a digital tour via media guide leads visitors through the fascinating architectural history of the building.
