Ringailė Marcinauskaitė's exhibition "Let's celebrate Life“

Ringailė Marcinauskaitė (born in 1981) is a contemporary artist who is easy to recognize from her painting which breathes powerful and emotional expression, along with an authentic outlook of reality. In recent years, the artist has been extremely productive while rethinking various topics, which frequently abound with contrasts. She truly cares about registering the daily life while reflecting on social relationships and processes, protecting the environment and perpetuating memory. Ringailė Marcinauskaitė is capable of not only observing, but also subtly naming the layers of human experience – which we frequently forget while being in a rush. Her creative work opens intimate rituals of mundaneness which are rendered into universal emotional experiences.

The exhibition being prepared is not merely a formal display; it is a living encounter in which the viewer is invited to feel like a guest in the artist’s home. What matters most here is the experience, the joy of discovery, and human connection. Marcinauskaitė consciously creates environments that encourage slowing down and listening – to oneself and to others.

According to the artist, it is the human who is in the center of her works. She rejects the concept of art for art’s sake while adhering to a philosophy that art is primarily a means of communication, cognition and reflection. Ringailė Marcinauskaitė claims that a return to the roots, to the human and the authentic relationship between humans and the world helps us not to get lost in the multitude of topics manifested in the contemporary life. She finds this relationship to represent a map guiding us towards the more real experiences and the more intense self-cognition.

Under the surface of the bright and dynamic works, their author can be found. She is a passionate collector – and yet she collects not humans but emotions, those of the audience and herself. The gentle provocations give the artist an opportunity to observe our reactions, and she can self-confidently infer that, today, we find ourselves in a spot where everyone must truly celebrate life, just not by scratching the surface but, to the contrary, by discovering one’s personal inner worlds. Ringailė Marcinauskaitė believes that art can serve as a starting point for a sincere dialogue with oneself, and sometimes be beneficial as a long-awaited emotional discharge.
