UNCANNY TRACES OF THE MAFIA
27.4. – 20.7.2014

From 27th April through 20th July 2014 Zephyr will be presenting the exhibition TAT/ORT  – Uncanny Traces of the Mafia for the first time in Germany. This highly relevant photographic researched and documentary project (Italian original title: Corpi di Reato) started three years ago. Three Italian artists needed to show the invisible wide reaching power of the Mafia in Italy.

The photographers Tommaso Bonaventura (*1969) and Alessandro Imbriaco (*1980) together with the curator Fabio Severo have researched the traces which the Mafia had left within the country. Their intensive work reveals a puzzle of landscape and urban photographs, images of interiors like court rooms or offices, and images of objects of evidence, wrecked cars, blackmailed, as well as, memorial places. The photographs expose a map of places which are linked with relevant historic or actual Mafia generated events – even if these events are not visible directly through the imagery, but they are readable as you observe all images and read the accompanied precise text which enables the viewer to detect the invisible power of the photographs.

You can order the magazine "TAT/ORT - CORPI DI REATO" in our online-shop.
