Africa

The collection displays objects that were collected by the Czech academic sculptor František Foit during his travel and stay in Africa from 1947 to 1971. Everyday objects are on display (small chairs, gourds, vessels from clay and wood), fetishes, tools, weapons, jewellery, instruments and masks, which represent the largest part of the collection. The final part of the exhibition is dedicated to Foit’s artwork, created during his stay in Africa and to the objects that he used in his research work.
