Libation vases or 'hes' vases. These were used to pour out liquid offerings of beer or water.

Libation vase in marl clay. 12th Dynasty. 196mm high. Originally part of the Rustafjaell collection purchased by Wellcome in 1906. Hieroglyphs in this shape ('hes') also meant 'praise' or 'favour'.
