Red pottery frog. Hollow. Old number 3580 in black ink. 70mm high. Traces of white gesso covering. Roman. Probably because of their large numbers of offspring frogs were associated with fertility. The goddess Heqat too, could take the form of a frog. She was associated with childbirth. Part of Myers collection purchased by Wellcome in 1931.
