Aegis of Bastet deep, collar, surmounted by cat's head. She wears a solar disc on her head. Gift from University of Wales Aberystwyth. Such items were carried by musicians, priests and also Bastet. The aegis is a representation of a menat as worn by Hathor and feline goddesses such as Bastet. Amuletic Aegides became popular from the Late Period. See Teeter, E. and Johnson, J.H. eds. 2009.
