Chelsea or Chelsea-Derby
Fluted bottle-shaped ('Rouleau') form. Decorated with a claret ground and a reserve with 'CIRCE VIENT EMPOISONNER L'ANTRE OU LA NYMPHE SYLLA AVOIT COUTUME DE SE REPOSER' (Circe poisoning the stream where to nymph Sylla rested), taken from the Paris edition of Ovid's 'Metamorphoses' 1768-9. The reverse has an oval reserve of a polychrome flower bouquet.
