Brass, has a plate on it which reads :- Royal Institution 7th July Centenary 1899 Dr Mond's Garden Party '. Small replica Davy lamp with 6 pillars and a side filler tube. The lamp also has an hook for hanging it from a lapel or pocket. The brass plate probably refers to Doctor Ludwig Mond, German born chemist and industralist.
