R2D2 Toy Figure, 1977-1983 (Ref:X.O89.2000.57.0)

An action figure representing R2D2, one of the main characters from the original trilogy of Star Wars films released between 1977 and 1983. R2D2 was one of the original 12 action figures to be produced under licence by the American company Kenner as part of the merchandising for the film Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. Kenner was a sister company of Leicestershire toy manufacturers, Palitoy.
