Small oil lamp with a bullseye lens, that is said to have been used in the Bagworth Colliery deep seam in the period 1878-1930. It has a rectangular case with a small door at the back. There is also a hook at the back for clipping the lamp to a trouser belt and a suspension ring on top.
This type of lamp was eventually replaced by the more popular flame safety lamps in the early part of the 20th century.
