Description: Linen sampler embroidered with polychrome silks in cross, Montenegrin cross, crosslet, double running and satin stitch with some couching, speckling and detached needlepoint lace filling stitches. All the edges are hemmed. There are seven horizontal bands of repeating floral border patterns; the widest at the top includes two small panels with the inscription ' HANNAH DAWe'. The third band contains a central rose with semi-detached petals.
