Description: Band sampler, linen, embroidered with polychrome wools in cross, double, running and eyelet hole stitch. There is a selvedge at the top and bottom and the sides are turned under and stitched. The sampler comprises of horizontal bands of stylized floral repeat patterns, an alphabet, the initials 'MP' and the date '1683'.
