Description: Band sampler, linen, embroidered with polychrome silks in cross, eyelet hole, double running, satin and lace filling stitches. The sampler comprises 20 horizontal bands, 17 of which are of repeat patterns, the other three are taken up by an alphabet and the inscription 'EB'. At the bottom of the sampler a wider band contains 9 detached motifs and the date '1665'.
