Limestone stool or headrest from Amarna with "T.A. 36.66. 262." written underneath. This is from a private house in the Northern City. See Freed, Markowitz and Auria 1999 'Pharaohs of the Sun' p 253 for an example of a headrest in stone. The example given is very similar to ours but is thinner and the shape is more obviously a headrest. Manchester Museum also has a comparable headrest from Amarna (M7204) and Kemp, B and Stevens, A. 21010 'Busy Lives at Amarna: Excavations in the Main City' Volume 2 describes several limestone stools which are similar to this.
