The Abbey of Saint-Dennis

This building was a former Benedictine monastery and church, four kilometers north of Paris. The Abbey was dissolved during the French Revolution. Napoleon established a school there for the daughters of members of the Legion of Honour. In the foreground, girls in school uniform are enjoying recreation in the grounds. Size: 71 x 57 cm
