The Raising of Lazarus

Lazarus and his sisters, Martha and Mary, often provided hospitality for Jesus at Bethany, near Jerusalem. Lazarus died suddenly. Some days after his burial, Jesus restored him to life. In this painting Lazarus is shown emerging from his tomb, while the bystanders hold their noses against the smell of bodily decay. Size: 133.6 x 102.5 cm
