Costume Lace

Border of bobbin lace, linen thread, and design based on clothwork tapes with couched cord outlines and decorative fillings. Symmetrical baroque design of large scrolling flowers enclosing a scene of a dog and a bird (perhaps an eagle). Narrow linen tape sewn to straight edge, heading has edging of needlemade loops. Size: 129 x 11 cm. Repeat: 37.5 cm.
