Intellectual biography
Each conversation in the Intellectual Biography series is a relaxed tour along the routes of cultural spaces, people and ideas important for the personal intellectual story of a hero or heroine. Our heroes are philologists, culture experts, historians, who are simultaneously researchers, writers or artists – pupils who have become teachers having taken this route.
The methodological foundation for creation of the Intellectual Biography map and, consequently, the plot of the story itself is the Anthropos-Topos-Tropos (People-Places-Ideas) triad, which focuses on the invaluable experience of talking to others, of places which give space for intellectual growth and ideas that put it all in motion.
The series was launched in 2010 at the Humanities Studies Centre of the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv and was later taken over by the Department of Ukrainian Literature of I. Krypiakevych Ukrainian Studies Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. Since 2018, Intellectual Biographies have been taking place at the Franko House.
