BLOOMING TARTINI SQUARE – INSTALLATION

BLOOMING TARTINI SQUARE – INSTALLATION INSTALLATION BLOOMING TARTINI SQUARE | Tartini Square, Piran, Saturday, 8 March 2025, 9.00 – 11.30 a.m. | Idea and execution: Gani Llalloshi, Ana Papež, Ingrid Knez On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the Piran Coastal Galleries are preparing a very special event. As part of the exhibition Nostalgia by the Littoral artist Gani Llalloshi, which has been on display at the Piran Civic Gallery for two months, we have been creating flowers for the installation Blooming Tartini Square at numerous pedagogical and andragogical workshops. The installation will be on display on Saturday, 8 March 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The idea will be realized by academic painter Gani Llalloshi and curator of the Piran Coastal Galleries Ana Papež. The inspiration for the installation were the colorful giant flowers created by art pedagogue Ingrid Knez, who works at the Livade Primary School in Izola. For a few hours, part of Tartini Square will be transformed into a flowering meadow, thereby symbolically welcoming the coming spring and marking the International Women’s Day – a holiday celebrated in about 100 countries around the world every year on March 8 and dedicated to the achievements and equality of women in the economic, political and social fields. In the event of bad weather (rain, strong wind), the installation will be moved to the Piran Civic Gallery. The installation would not have been possible without the participation of pupils from several schools in the Littoral region of Slovenia and their art mentors: Ingrid Knez (Livade Izola Primary School), Vasko Vidmar (CKSG Portorož), Vika Kuštrin, Barbara Nagode in Lorena Lovrečič (Ciril Kosmač Piran Primary School), Andreja Ozebek (Sečovlje Primary School), Lusi Breulj (SE Vincenzo e Diego de Castro Pirano), Matjaž Borovničar (Šmarje pri Kopru Primary School), Nika Pegan (JSKD Izola in Koper), Julija Leben (CIRIUS Vipava), and participants in an andragogical workshop guided by Ingrid Knez (21 February 2025). All visitors (especially ladies) are cordially invited to visit the installation, where a small but precious gift will be waiting for them.
