Museum of Semberija

Muzej Semberije

The Museum of Semberija is located in the oldest building in Bijeljina.

The museum has four exhibition halls and a hall for temporary exhibitions. There are 3 permanent museum settings.

Archaeological exhibition on the ground floor of the museum includes material remains of civilizations from the Neolithic to the late Middle Ages. The largest and most important collections of medieval inscriptions in BiH and abroad are located there, with 23 Cyrillic inscriptions in the old language Serbian edition.

There is a collection of Roman stone monuments (Jupiter's altar, stone vessels, two lion figures, stelae, and statuettes) and located on the medieval sites najistraženijih burrows in Batkovic and medieval casting pot from Ostojic.

Ethnological exhibition includes items related to life in Semberija and old village culture of Bijeljina.

Historical exhibition covers the history of Bijeljina since the first mention of 3rd March 1446 until 20th century and includes an exhibition of photographs of old buildings in Bijeljina, old weapons and items.
