Design Museum Gent

Design Museum Gent is the only Belgian design museum with both historic and contemporary collections. Situated at the heart of the city of Ghent, behind the stately facade of an 18th century palatial mansion, the museum offers a varied selection of applied arts, industrial and artistic design, ranging from Henry van de Velde to the present.

The collections are presented in such a way that you can choose the tour that you are particularly interested in. Several routes provide the opportunity to view design objects focused on a specific theme. The museum stages high profile temporary exhibitions encouraging you to reflect on the impact of good design on your life and that of society as a whole.

Feel free to bring the family. The Museum Game, which is free of charge, introduces children to design in a playful manner. The museum shop, on the other hand, showcases affordable and Belgian design.
